/Var/log/auth.log файл в моей Ubuntu 9.04 пуст. syslogdработает и /etc/syslog.conf содержимое выглядит следующим образом. Любая помощь? Благодарю.

/etc/init.d/rsyslog restart (Ваша программа syslogd может отличаться.)
Он снова начал писать в /var/log/auth.log.
Возможно, он прекратил запись в журнал после события переполнения диска, я не уверен.

Проверьте свои разрешения на /var/log/auth.log
