You need to make the restored partition ACTIVE by using DISKPART. At a command prompt:
DISKPART LIST DISK SELECT DISK x (where x is the physical boot disk) LIST PARTITION SELECT PARTITION x (where x is the partition where Windows resides) ACTIVE EXIT EXIT
Then reboot.
You may encounter the dreaded BOOTMGR is missing
error after rebooting. You will then need to use the Windows 7 installation DVD and allow it to repair or manually by entering BOOTREC /FIXMBR
and BOOTREC /FIXBOOT
