Следующий ответ был преобразован в пакет Chocolatey, опубликован в галерее Chocolatey и устанавливается с помощьюcinst apacheds

Я установил ApacheDS в автоматическом режиме, загрузив и распаковав zip-файл ApacheDS и установив его lib/apacheds-service-<version>.jarкак службу, используя NSSM ( см. Вопрос и ответ в StackOverflow относительно создания jar-файла как службы в Windows ).
