Итак, недавно у меня возникли проблемы с воспроизведением любого вида файла mp4 на моем xbox. Каждый раз, когда я пытаюсь, я просто получаю сообщение «Не удалось получить медиа-информацию с медиа-сервера».
Я пробовал обычную хитрость перезапуска службы сети WMP и службы устройства UPNP несколько раз, но безрезультатно. У меня ВСЕГДА возникает та же проблема.

FWIW, у меня была та же проблема при попытке воспроизвести некоторые файлы .mp4, хранящиеся на моем ПК с Windows 7, на моем LG Smart TV сегодня.
Я переименовал их в .avi, и они тогда играли просто отлично. Затем я переименовал их обратно в .mp4, и теперь они также играют просто отлично.
and as if by magic.. I stumble upon a "workaround" almost immediately after posting this! Simply renaming the .mp4 files to .avi seems to "fix" the problem of not being able to play the files. (no.. really!)
only downside is that seeking isn't supported, but I can live with that until a better answer can be found!
